Our History

Founded in 1954 by Palmer and Esther Kronen, Palmer’s Drug has been a cornerstone of Missoula's healthcare for over six decades. Initially built with a commitment to providing personalized care, the pharmacy quickly became a trusted name in the community.In 1971, it moved to a larger location on SW Higgins Avenue, which enabled it to better serve the growing needs of local families. Palmer’s continued to flourish under the leadership of Palmer Kronen until 1983, when it was passed on to Jim O’Connor. Today, under the ownership of Heffernan Drug Inc., Palmer’s remains an independently operated business, with a deep commitment to its roots in Missoula. The pharmacy is proud to have been a part of so many lives over the years, offering customized care that big-box pharmacies simply can’t match.
